The MBSR is an 8-week course, plus an opportunity to attend a half-day retreat.
Each of the 8 sessions lasts for 2 hours, during which time we will discuss the following themes:

Weeks 1 & 2: What is Mindfulness? The mind/body connection. Building mindfulness into daily life.  Stress and stress response.

Weeks 3 & 4: Stress. Reacting and responding. Mind and body. Neuroscience of mindfulness.

Weeks 5 & 6: Neuroscience. Managing difficulties and challenges in daily life.

Weeks 7 & 8: Self-care. Compassion for self and others.

Each session you will also learn tools and techniques to help you and be invited to take part in practical exercises including: Body Scan, Mindful Movement, Breath Awareness and Loving Kindness Practices. There is an expectation that you will continue with the recommended practice for each week, at home, between sessions on at least 5 days out of 7. You will be provided with digital recordings to support you in your home practice.

To get the most out of an MBSR course you need to make a commitment to attend all 8 sessions and practice and reflect on this, between sessions.

The MBSR course is well-established and researched. It provides an excellent introduction for those new to mindfulness and for anyone with a past or current experience of the practice; an opportunity for enrichment.

Jane Hodgkinson has been teaching mindfulness for the past 8 years in a variety of settings, offering a range of curricula (not including the MBSR). She is currently on the MBSR teacher training pathway with Mindfulness UK and as such would like to offer you the chance to take part in an MBSR Course at a greatly reduced cost. The usual price is £220.

The special offer price for this autumn is just £120 (£15 per session)
